How am I paid for my car or vehicle?
The Scrap Metal Dealer’s Act 2013 no longer allows any cash payments for scrap cars. The only forms of payment now permitted are non-negotiable cheques or bank transfers.
Do I need to contact the DVLA when I scrap my car?
Yes, it is your legal responsibility to inform DVLA that you are no longer the owner/keeper of the vehicle. We will complete the required details on Section 9 of the V5C and hand this back to you. You should then post this to the DVLA. You can also notify the DVLA online by visiting DVLA website. Where you do not have the V5C, you need to send a letter to DVLA to inform them of the transfer of ownership (best sent with proof of receipt) as soon as the vehicle has been handed over to us.
Do you scrap all brands of cars?
Yes, we will collect any brand or type of car and recycle it in an approved manner.
Do you collect vans and lorries and other commercial vehicles?
Yes, we collect all types of vehicles.
Can I sell you my scrap car if it has no MOT?
Yes, it does not matter whether the vehicle has an MOT or not. It will not be taken to the road again.
Can I scrap my car if it has a high mileage or is a non-runner?
No worries here, the mileage of the car is less important than the amount of metal in the body and engine. And as for it being a non-runner, again not an issue as we will collect it at a pre-arranged time using a low loader.
Can you collect an Abandoned vehicle?
Yes, once we have received appropriate permission from the local authority or the Police our curbside collection/car removal service enables us to collect all types of cars, vans etc
Do you collect damaged cars or a wrecked car?
